The Basics

  1. Church, at its core, is not about buildings, it is about relationships with God and with one another. Faith formation is rooted in intergenerational, faith-forming relationships.
  2. Churches have been doing for centuries what digital media, especially social media, was created to do. Church is built on two relationships, with God and with each other. These are what we do best. Digital ministry is about these relationships.
  3. Digital is space for theology [verb] to happen. It is a unique space, where teaching and learning about God, and experiencing God’s presence together [flourishes beyond where we ever thought possible]. Digital does not replace physical.
  4. Our story, and God’s story, can be told in places we never dreamed.
    • We, too, can shine in places nowhere near our churches. [We can reach the world].
    • Tell God’s Story, God’s Promise. Tell our story. Why and how we tell it is our brand, our identity.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” -Matthew 22: 37-40

“May we all learn, teach, and model the value of being present in the moment, [present with God] – whether in person or online. We are both discipling and being discipled. These are great relationships, [centered around Christ], to play out both online and in person.”
