On Facebook
Digital Outreach (DO) is about embracing engaging ways to connect with one’s adult children, one’s children, one’s grandchildren, one’s great grandchildren, etc. –> where they are.
How will Facebook, along with the website & other Social Media platforms, DO through engagement:
-
- Help members and guests of the congregation stay connected, participate in discussions or devotions, etc.
- Discover and engage in conversation about important topics in the community.
-
- Tag FB people, businesses, and/or churches in posts for wider distribution and engagement (i.e. it can appear on their FB timeline; notifies and offers them chance to see post).
- Follow other people and pages that are important and related to the congregation and community.
-
-
- Share worship times, upcoming outreach events and other opportunities, and an invitation of welcome.
-
- Distribute encouraging and inspirational quotes and images, offering something for guests and members to “take away”.
-
- Provide glimpses into the worship life of the congregation through images, super-brief testimonials, photos and testimonials of service activities/events, short quotes from sermons or hymns/songs, etc.
-
- Can create photo albums which provide the sharing of large numbers of photos at once.
- Tag other FB people, businesses, and/or churches in images for wider distribution (i.e. it can appear on their FB timeline; notifies and offers them chance to see post)
