Meat and Potatoes Tech Assistance

Over the past several years and especially since March 2020, the number has increased of folks using technology such as computers and tablets for worshipping online via YouTube and Facebook, to connecting with family and friends through Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, and even email. And with such a massive growth and necessity comes the need for basic tech assistance. Journey Begun Media provides such help to churches and their congregations.

1. Journey Begun Media provides members of the congregation help in purchasing a new computer or tablet, along with setup assistance.
2. Journey Begun Media aids members of the congregation with very basic computer/tablet troubleshooting via phone and/or remoting into the device.
3. The What:
   • New device (computer-pc and tablet) advice and set up:
     • Walking through the initial set up of the device from out-of-the-box.
     • Assistance in downloading and installing software (including anti-virus software and navigation).
     • Adding shortcuts to the homepage.
     • Learning how to use the taskbar and Start menu.
     • Help in traversing the vast world of the internet and web browsers, especially in accessing the churches online worship services.
     • Aid in setting up or accessing email on a web browser, tablet email app, or Windows Mail App.
   • A Computer Bit of Basic Troubleshooting:
     • How to power cycle a device for the most benefit.
     • Updating the Windows or tablet operating system.
     • Optimizing the hard drive.
     • Help in making sure the device drivers are updated, temporary files are purged, start-up apps are adjusted, all to aid in improving start up and performance issues.
     • Wi-Fi connection issues.
   • Virtual Q&A or Web Basics sessions for the congregation and community
